We have used Fiferum construction several times throughout the past few years, and our experience with them has consistently been extremely satisfying, beyond our expectations. They’ve installed custom shelving in our garage – anchored to the ceiling, easily supporting all the weight we could ever need.
They professionally sealed and weather-proofed our screened porch and bench a few years ago, and it has held up much better than others in our neighborhood that didn’t seal their wood. They’ve hung every ceiling fan in our home, and there are many (seven in total). Most recently they completely removed our carpet upstairs, replacing it with LVP – and they even took on a custom, one of a kind project – to frame and hang two large stained glass pieces in our two-story foyer, while running power to the area from our attic so that the glass could be lit. Everything we throw at this group, they out-perform our expectations. Alex is a complete professional who will always make time to talk you through the work being done, point out areas outside of the scope of the project for consideration, and even give you general advice on any sort of contracting question you can think of.
Chelsea, who sets the projects up and provides quotes / information leading up to the work being done, is extremely responsive and will frequently answer questions you have outside of business hours. Their team is courteous, polite, and EXTREMELY clean, leaving the spaces that they work in nicer at the end of a project then what they found at the start. While indoors, they treat our home as an extension of their own. They take extreme pride in their work, and will go out of their way to make sure the finished product is something they’d feel good about having for themselves – not just the customer. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this group, we are so grateful that we found them. Give them your business!

We hired Fiferum Construction this past summer to stain our deck and back stoop and build stairs leading onto the deck. Chelsea and Alex were very communicative and always responded promptly. The stain on the deck turned out great and has held up beautifully so far (5 months later). They were also great about coming back out to fix an issue we noticed long after the work was complete– the new deck steps had rendered the spigot inaccessible but Alex was able to quickly relocate the spigot and made the necessary stain touch ups to the steps.
We did learn one lesson from our experience– never trust the online color swatches when choosing a stain color! We were trying to match the existing brown and black stain on the deck and the closest Cabot equivalents turned out green and blue! From now on I will always ask for actual sample pots of stain to test the colors before purchasing the full amount.

Alex and Chelsea were so great to work with! Communication throughout the entire process was thorough and timely. We hired Fiferum to expand a hallway closet into a large pantry, which involved knocking down multiple walls, making design decisions mid-project once we could see what space was available, installing a new wall, hanging drywall, and installing laminate flooring.
It looks amazing! We felt enough trust from communication early on that we scheduled Alex to do the work while we were out of town and out of his way – he took care of ensuring our house was locked up and all well when we returned. We’d hire them again in a heartbeat!

I used Fiferum construction when I bought my house in 2018. My new house had popcorn ceilings that I desperately wanted removed. Alex and his team were very communicative, professional, and did a GORGEOUS job. My ceilings look so, so great, and at a reasonable price.
I do know Alex and Chelsea personally as well, and I would just like to mention that they are some of the best people I know. They are open, honest, and truly delightful to talk with. I can’t recommend their services enough. They will get the job done and it will be done well.

We hired Fiferum to replace gutters, do some carpentry repairs, replace outdoor light fixtures, and paint the exterior of our 1960s ranch. We were nervous because previous owners hadn’t done a ton of upkeep and we knew it would be a big expense. Alex and his team did a FANTASTIC job.
The paint is perfect, the new gutters are great, and they meticulously repaired the glazing on our original wood windows and made them look brand-new. Communication was good throughout the project, and they took good care of the work site. I especially appreciated how they helped us think through options of where to replace vs. repair something, give advice on paint colors, etc. We’re now hiring them to install new storm windows, and will absolutely hire them next time we need to do any painting.

Fiferum Construction replaced multiple damaged posts holding up our large deck and screened-in porch. They also stained our deck, front porch and an area off of our basement. From the first contact, they were incredibly responsive and professional.
They showed up when they said that they would and also kept me updated on the work, the timeline and every step along the way. We’ve worked with several builders and contractors over the years and this was by far the best experience. In addition, the quality of work and care taken during the job far exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Fiferum and intend to use them again for any other work we need to have done in the future!

We are so pleased with the work that Fiferum Construction did in our Powder Room. There was damage to our ceiling but we were not certain of the cause. Alex and his team came out to resolve that issue and paint the powder room. They discovered that when the house was restored years ago the wax bowl ring on the upstairs toilet directly above the powder room had not been properly installed.
The flooring in our upstairs guest bath required replacement. The job expanded but Fiferum Construction was able to complete everything that needed repair and replacement efficiently. I had excellent communication with Chelsea and Alex throughout their work with us. Everyone on their team was skilled, professional, and personable. We will definitely call on them again for our home repair or restoration needs.

Fiferum does quality work that they guarantee, and they communicate at every step of the process. We previously had them paint the cedar siding on our house. When we noted a few months later a few areas where the paint appeared to be cracking, they returned promptly to identify and fix the issue.
We hired them again to stain our deck and address water damage on some soffit and facia boards. They did great work, and we’d hire them again in a heartbeat.

Alex and his crew did exceptional work on our home. They replaced rotting/damaged soffits and fascia and installed all new gutters. They painted all the wood on the outside of our home. One piece of trim could not be purchased locally, and Jon, the carpenter, made a matching replacement at his home workshop. They also designed and installed new railings for our front stoop. They worked methodically everyday on site, they explained what specific repairs ended up being needed, they cleaned up the site everyday before leaving so we could still use our backyard. They weren’t just doing a “job”.
They treated our home like it was theirs and wanted the end product to be exceptional; and it is. I will hire them again in the future. They have done work for several of our neighbors over the years and everyone I have spoke with recommends them to others and will hire Fiferum Construction for future projects.
Also important, they COMMUNICATED about when they would be working on site and when weather, or another time-sensitive project, would keep them away from our home. There was no waiting to see if the crew would show-up on any given day. They were punctual, dependable, polite, very knowledgeable and hard working.

Last year (2020), we hired Fiferum to replace the flooring in the entire lower level of our home (about 1700 sq ft), along with a range of additional repairs. Beyond providing reliable and reasonable estimates, I was impressed by two qualities of Alex and his team.
First, Alex is great at helping you think through the details of your project and anticipating your needs. He made a number of valuable recommendations, including recommendations for materials that contributed significantly to our happiness with the outcome of the project.
Second, living in an older house, we have dealt with a number of contractors. It seems to be standard that they are always in the process of balancing multiple simultaneous jobs. In consequence, when (and sometimes if) they show up on any particular day to work on your job is often unpredictable. This was not true with Fiferum. They blocked out time for our job and were here every day when they said they would be. They were absolutely reliable. And I should probably add, I was amazed by how hard these guys work. They did an enormous amount of work in a short period of time.
We will certainly use Fiferum again, and I can’t recommend them highly enough.

I used Fiferum Construction to replace two windows on the front of my house and install a picture window between them. A mason was also needed to remove the brick where the new window would go, and add the brick trim back in place once the new windows had been installed.
We initially had a miscommunication regarding the size of the new window (but clearly I bear some of the responsibility for that as I was the one who explained what I wanted). Fiferum handled this glitch professionally and fairly. Once we got on the same page about the window size, everything went very smoothly. I found Chelsea to be very communicative via email (which is my preferred method). Alex was also very professional and communicative.
Good communication from both of them was very important because I needed to coordinate with the mason for various elements. I always knew when to expect the Fiferum crew, and they showed up and did the work that we’d discussed. I thought their timeline and pricing were fair. I would happily use them again and already have a few projects in mind that I’ll be contacting them to handle in the future.
